Orthotic Support and Calipers

Orthoses, braces, and supports made for the leg, hip, knee, ankle, and foot are referred to as lower extremity orthotics. They can be used for a variety of purposes, such as immobilization or stability. From straightforward leg orthotics to intricate reciprocating gait orthotics with a specially designed orthopaedic shoe, lower extremity orthotics can function separately or in combination to provide a variety of possibilities.

Products Information

Foot Orthotics (Shoe Inserts): In order to improve the general alignment of the foot, ankle complex, leg, and lower limb, foot orthotics are made to relieve sensitive or painful areas, accommodate or repair abnormalities, and distribute pressure evenly over the whole plantar surface of the foot. Foot orthoses can be classified as soft, stiff, semi-rigid, accommodating, or corrective.

Ankle Supportrs: The main purpose of these orthoses is to help with chronic ankle sprains and strains as well as ankle stability. Semi-rigid rigid orthoses, rigid ankle orthoses, gel or air orthoses, and custom ankle orthotics that are tailored to the patient’s foot are among the various forms of support.

Ankle- Foot Orthoses: AFOs are made to protect the foot and lower limb, help or replace weak muscles, and give support and appropriate joint alignment for the foot and ankle. Usually made of plastic or metal, these orthoses are available in three different styles: articulated, semi-rigid, and rigid.

Lower Extremity Walker Boots: Walker boots are made to limit lower extremity range of motion and help stabilize the foot and ankle. A solid or articulating ankle joint is a feature of Walker boots that allows for the treatment of fractures, traumas, and long-term illnesses. Each orthosis features a rocker bottom sole to promote a fluid walking pattern, malleolar (ankle) padding for added stability and comfort, and a detachable inner lining to prevent skin deterioration.

Lower Extremity Soft Supports: Frequently called “soft goods,” these braces are made of materials like fabric, canvas, and neoprene and can be strengthened with plastic or metal supports for extra support.

Functional Knee Orthosis: Functional knee orthoses are made to help stabilize the knee joint in cases of meniscus damage, ligament injury, postoperative reconstruction, and for prophylactic purposes. The goal of these orthoses is to give the knee joint the most stability possible. Unwanted motion between the femur and the tibia results from damage to the knee’s ligaments. If treatment is not received, this may result in degenerative joint changes, considerable joint laxity, increased risk of additional injury, and potential harm to the surrounding structures. A personalized model of the patient’s leg or the patient’s measurements can be used to create functional knee orthoses.

Knee Immobilizer: In the acute phase of knee injuries as well as after surgery, knee immobilizers are frequently utilized to support and immobilize the lower extremities. They offer the greatest amount of compression and immobilization for the knee joint.

Knee Ankle Foot Orthoses: KAFOs are intended to protect the foot and lower limb, help or replace weak muscles, and offer support and appropriate joint alignment to the knee, foot, and ankle. A range of materials, including plastic and metal, can be used to create KAFOs. Drop lock, bail or French lock, trigger lock, locked knee, stance control, and posterior offset knee joint are some more terms.

Lower Extremity Fracture Orthoses or Distal Tibia/Fibular Fracture Orthosis: A walking boot or tibial fracture orthosis can be used to treat distal tibial/fibular fractures. The type of orthosis that is most appropriate for stabilizing your fracture is decided by your doctor.

Reciprocating Gait Orthoses: Placing one foot in front of the other is known as reciprocating gait. RGOs were created to assist people with paralytic illnesses such as spina bifida, myelomeningocele, and spinal cord injuries in walking. Patients who have suffered lower extremity paralysis frequently need the use of orthotic devices in order to walk. A reciprocating gait orthosis (RGO) is one such device that aims to give paraplegic individuals the most normal way of moving.

Hip Abduction Orthosis: The purpose of hip abduction orthoses is to keep the hip or prosthetic hip replacement in the proper anatomical position. The parts consist of a hip joint, thigh cuff, and hip/pelvic girdle. The joints typically have some degree of flexion and abduction and can be adjusted. By placing the femur’s head in the acetabulum, this alignment promotes the healing of the surrounding muscles, ligaments, and bone. Patients with persistent hip dislocation or subluxation are also stabilized using these devices.

Sequential Compression Therapy: These devices are used to help reduce lymphedema and venous return by applying intermittent compression to the affected limb. These are frequently used in hospitals after surgery to help with circulation in the lower extremities and prevent blood clots.

Compression Stockings: Compression stockings are gradient stockings that promote venous return and help manage edema and lymphedema.
